‘Ello… ok, why am I typing with a british accent?

Just joking, though I do have some british in my heritage.

Before anyone asks why I’m not posting anything related to the Royal Wedding it’s simple… weddings aren’t a topic of mine. Why? well, I’ll say this,  like a lot of young people in my age group marriage is a subject I don’t fully understand so I tend to avoid reading anything related to marital/romantic relationships. Probably the only thing related to it I write about is most if not all my characters are married. As for the rest, they’re mostly single or too young.

Changing the subject, with Good Morning America covering the Royal Wedding and show some shots of London, lately I’ve had classical music stuck in my head. Also, I’ve been thinking about my characters that are from the U.K. lately. But I will name a few of my favorite things and people from Great Britain. Starting off with my favorite dog breed: Beagles!

Beagles originated in Great Britain, originally used to chase rabbits and track foxes. They have a keen sense of smell and a high I.Q. to boot. While they rank # 75 on the most intelligent dog breeds list, I own a beagle and trust me she doesn’t have the I.Q. of raisin. When she goes outside she knows to push the door open to get in and once in a while she sits and watches TV with me. Now if only I could teach her how to read… eh, maybe later.

Some of my favorite British actors/actresses:

Joseph Marcell- Geoffrey Butler (Fresh Prince of Bel Air)

This guy makes me laugh.  Some of the things he says or does are downright funny.

Julie Andrews- Various roles

I’ve been a fan of hers for years. Great actress, I really enjoy her voice acting in animation.

Daniel Davis- Niles (The Nanny)

He and Joseph Marcell’s characters run neck and neck in terms of personality. Still funny nonetheless.

Sarah Douglas- Various roles

Mostly know for her role in Superman 1 and 2. Good at doing various facial expressions.  I always thought it’d be interesting if she and Joseph Marcell were on a TV show of some sort  as guest stars in the same episode. I laugh just thinking about it. 🙂

Hugh Laurie- Jasper (101 Dalmatians 1996 remake)

He’s quite a character, very funny. One of my favorite scenes from the 101 Dalmatians remake is this:

Horace: “Look, tracks!”

*points to rabbit tracks*

Jasper: * looks at him* “I love you.”

14 years later and that scene is still funny.

Joan Plowwright- Various roles

Another actress I’ve been a long time fan off. She did a great job in Bringing down the house.

Tim Curry- Various roles

One of my favorite voice actors. He’s played a variety of characters in animation. One of the best.

Olivia d’Abo-Various roles.

Another favorite of mine in voice acting for animation. One of her trademark roles in animation is Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire in Justice League, she’s also been on the sitcom 3rd rock from the sun.

——–

There’s a few more people on my list that I’ll add later.

Other things I’m a fan of from England are: English Foxhounds, English setters, fish & chips, tea, classical music, the BAFTA awards, and Aardman studios the animation studio behind hits such as Wallace &  Gromit and Creature Comforts. Another favorite series of mine from Britain is “The Animals of Farthing Wood” both the book and the series are worth a look.  Two great books on my list that have been made into a film or mini series that are set in England are:

Winnie the Pooh

The Beatrix Potter series

Fantasic Mr. Fox

Other films on my list that take place in England/UK

First Snow of Winter*

* Won best animated film at the 1998 BAFTA awards.

Chicken Run

Flushed Away

Now if anybody asks would I want to visit England?

Yes, I would!

I have a pen pal there that I’d like to meet and a friend of mine who sadly passed away almost a year ago is from Britain.

I have a few souvenirs from England as well, from when my older sister went there. Including some Belgian hot chocolate mix which is…dare I say it? jolly good!

Needless to say, I’d love to visit Britain… well the U.K. and the rest of Europe too. I’ve got Irish and French in my blood.  There’s also a few museums and other different places there I’d like to see too.

As for how my script frenzy status is, without further delay there’ll be a full report in my next post. I have to say, the forum on the site has really helpful group of members. Again, I will post how it went.

In the meantime here’s a sketch from Monty Python’s flying circus.

One thing that’s hardly around now are variety shows which were fun to watch. I also get a kick out British humor, it’s lot different from American humor but just as funny.

Monty Python’s flying circus- Dead Parrot sketch

Enjoy!

See ya on Monday!

Yep another ‘I hate Mondays’ post. I’ve got a new idea for next month though.

Anyway, at this point it’s safe to say I’m officially well. That’s right! I’m over the flu. That was a real drag.

Got some coffee at Starbucks which was good. Looked at some cute puppies and three young rabbits in a pet store on Saturday. All of them looked sweet and innocent.

Just point it out to anybody that asks and trust me this has happened before. I’m NOT on Myspace or some site called linkedin, however I do have pages on Facebook and Twitter. I’ve been using twitter for over a month and I have to say, it’s a good place to build up a list of contacts and network.

With this being the final week of script frenzy, I’m determined to finish this year.

Will post my progress this week.

See ya on Wednesday!

Yes it’s true, I like Fridays but I hate Mondays!

Anyway, today was pretty good. Got a coffee and marble loaf at Starbucks, had Chinese food for dinner and topped the evening off with a slice of pie and whipped cream. 🙂

On another note, Disney Nature’s African Cats opened in theaters today.

After waiting for 4 months, I finally got a wireless card!

The installation process wasn’t hard at all but there’s a problem… I can’t go online with it!

It’s an issue I’ve been working on since installed it, chances are the problem’s related to my internet connection.  I’m hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible.

In other news, today I woke up feeling great, it’s almost like I never had the flu!

I also found this interesting article that was posted on The Screenplay reader blog:

Screenwriting @ Starbucks? 5 reasons not to.

http://screenplayreaders.com/blog/screenwriting-news/screenwriting-at-starbucks-5-reasons-not-to/

It brought up some interesting points.

Speaking of which. I just thought share a tip of my own. This was mentioned in the book titled: “Tuesdays with Morrie”

Have sore muscles or need a quick way to relax?

Try adding Hydrogen peroxide to hot bath water.

No, seriously! it works.

I’ve also read coffee can be used as a pain killer and dark chocolate was listed a food that can help a person sleep.

I’ve tried both and it’s true, they do work!

That being said, I’m done. As for what I plan to do this weekend, I might catch a movie.

Will post how things go.

See ya on Monday!

*Sighs* I hate Mondays!

Ok, I’m done. Now that it’s out of my system I’ll continue.

Aside from getting close to hitting my 30th tweet on twitter and am now following over 100+ people, companies, etc…I’ve also passed the 18oth blog post mark!

In other news, the newest animated film in theaters, Rio was # 1 at the box office this weekend!

Whoo-hoo!

I haven’t seen it yet but I plan to.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I’m feeling much better the only problems I have now is a dry cough and I’m still congested. Honestly having the flu is no fun.

Also, after being out of it for so long I’m slowly getting back into reading and writing on a regular basis, still needs work but I’ll work on getting better. Also, I’ve decided to do something I’ve been putting off for months… reading the back issues of my comics. That’s right, comics. I’ve been reading comic books since late 2004. How did that start? find out in my upcoming essay…I’m still working on a title at the moment.

That being said I’m participating in Script frenzy for the second year in a row. Will post how things are going.

See ya on Wednesday!

It’s friday and while I’m slowly getting better, I still feel as sick as dog. 😦

Will continue to post my progress next week.

In other news, the latest animated film,  Rio is now playing in U.S. theaters.

I hope to go see it at some point. So far it’s doing well with this being the opening weekend…

“I’m in Rio and I’m walkin’ on the beach, I’m in my speedo!”

– Homer Simpson.

In the meantime enjoy this teaser trailer and episode 2 of the Lebrons.
